GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPIES FOR SALE (MORE INFO ABOUT HOW WE RAISE THEM)
German Shepherd Puppies for Sale !
After our babies are born for the next few weeks the mom and babies enjoy their quiet time at our home. They are going through what we call the “baked potato stage”. I make sure everyone is nursing well and I weigh them twice a day to make sure they are plumping up. I also keep close tabs on the mommy to make sure she is eating, drinking and taking her potty breaks, and that she is not losing weight. We take the mom and pups to the vet on day two or three to have the pup’s dew claws removed and to give everyone another wellness check.
A few days later I begin their “puppy exercises”. We follow the Early Neurological Stimulation exercises as documented by Dr. Carmen Battaglia, which we have found makes a remarkable difference in the confidence of our puppies.
I begin weighing them daily after the first week and I check their toe nails and clip them as needed. By this time the pups should have doubled their birth weights. Once their eyes and ears are open I begin introducing some deliberate noises like gentle music, but I also don’t shelter them from everyday more startling noises, like the TV or vacuum cleaner. Also ensure that they are handled and associate with our kids & other critters.
By the time any of our puppies are ready to leave , they have already been Vaccinated, currently dewormed, properly socialized and have had received basic potty training.
They come with a contract that includes a 5 years health guarantee. A personalized manual for raising the puppies is offered, a free crate, name collar, and a piece of their mum’s blanket upon the purchase of a puppy. Above we have available German Shepherd Puppies for sale.
TRAINING YOUR GERMAN SHEPHERD
When it comes to training your German Shepherd Puppy, it’s important to start training early and to remain consistent. Just remember, it’s never too early to begin training your puppy—ideally, you would start the very day you bring your puppy home. By creating good habits from a young age, you can have a well-behaved four-legged friend within no time.
By dedicating just a short fifteen minutes every day to training, you can quickly make training a consistent habit for both you and your dog. Not to mention, short training sessions will make it easier to maintain your dog’s attention. You may be surprised with how quickly your puppy can learn new commands and tricks!
If, at first, your puppy does not seem to understand a command, it can sometimes be beneficial to move on to another command for the day. German Shepherds do well with positive reinforcement, so rewards such as treats or toys are helpful to have on-hand.
GROOMING YOUR GERMAN SHEPHERD
The German Shepherd has low shedding coat which means their hair will continue growing and needs a regularly scheduled groom every 6 – 12 weeks. German Shepherds generally keep themselves very clean they will need regular cleaning and a daily brush to keep your German Shepherds coat from getting matted and tangled. Lighter colored German Shepherds are also prone to tear stains which can be reduced or eliminated with proper care.
